LG 60PY2DR / LG 50PY2DR Plasma TVs with built-in DVR

LG intends to introduce a pair of plasma TVs with built-in DVR in the second quarter of 2005. The LG 60PY2DR, a 60-inch version, will retail for $15,000, and the LG 50PY2DR, a 50-inch version, will retail for $8,000.

The built-in DVR function will eliminate the need for TiVo-type set-top boxes to record favorite shows and/or pause live television. A 160-gigabyte DVR will record up to 14 hours of high-definition programming or 62 hours of digital standard-definition programs.
